The Monarch Butterfly

The Monarch Butterfly has orange, black wings, big eyes and six legs. The wing span is 3 1/2 inches.  
 The Monarch butterfly lives in  North America from southern Canada, North, South,  Central America also in Europe and Australia.  They can be found in open fields, meadows, prairies, and marshes especially those with milkweeds. 
The Monarch butterfly's diet is the nectar that they drink.  They also  eat milkweed that is fresh, tender and with moisture.
The Monarch Butterfly's life cycle is:  egg, larva, pupa, adult.  The caterpillar is about  five centimeters(2 inches) long.
The Monarch butterfly's eggs are small like dots and the egg is white and shiny. They lay about 400 eggs. After the pupa they become a graceful  butterfly.
They act quiet and they fly away to protect themselves.
Blue jays are  afraid of male monarch butterflies.  Monarchs are the best known Insects. They are the king of butterfly world.
