Elk

Elk are light brown.  They can grow up to 8 feet long.  Elk can weigh up to 580-1100 pounds. They are 55 inches tall.  Their life span is 8 years. 
They live in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.   Elk live on all continents. They don't migrate. 
Elk eat grasses, weeds, wild flowers, mushrooms, and pine needles.  Elk drink water.
Elk gallop around.  They play and battle with their horns.  Elk protect themselves with their horns.  Elk shed their horns in March.   Elk horns can weigh 40 or 50 pounds.
Their  life cycle goes embryo, calf, young animal, and adult.
A few minutes after they are born they can walk.  Elk have two layers of coat. 
Elk fight over females.  Elk live in small groups.  Elk have many different names.  By the end of September all of their coat is completely gone.
Elk don't have any top front teeth.  Elk can have twin calves.  New born calves can weigh 37 pounds. 
Elk can run 30 mph.  Elk can camouflage themselves.  Elk don't have tails.
