The Description of Orangutans

by  Haylee,  Kris and Nathan
A male orangutan can weigh up to 155 pounds.  A female can weigh half that much. The length of an orangutan is 44 to 54 inches.  The length of a full grown male's arms can be up to 7 feet, when fully apart.  As the male gets older and larger they develop cheek and neck pouches.
The orangutan has a brown face and orange fur. The orangutan is compared to people. Orangutans protect themselves by swinging from tree to tree. The orangutan is a mammal.  It is a vertebrate too.
