| A white tailed deer has a 
            pewter gray color coat in the winter. In the summer it's a reddish 
            brown color above lighter below. It's tail is brown above and white 
            below. Their hair is tubular, stiff & brittle.    | 
        
          | This deer can grow to 3 to 3 
            1/2 feet at the should . A male can weigh 200 to 300 pounds and a 
            female can weigh 70 to 200 pounds. Male deer grow antlers of main 
            beam with smaller branches growing. The life span is about 10 
          years.    | 
        
          | These deer live in areas with 
            enough vegetation for hiding like woodlands and grasslands. They 
            live in north and central North America and northern South America. 
            They eat wild leaves, berries, grass, bud, bark, wild grapes, 
            apples, acorns, weeds, shrubs, nuts, fungi & 
lichens.     | 
        
          | A deer is mature 
          at 1 or 2 years old. They breed from October to January. A male deer 
          mates with a few female deer. A female is pregnant for 195 to 212 
          days. A fawn is born , becomes a yearling  and  then becomes an 
adult.    | 
        
          | This deer doesn't have upper 
            incisor teeth. It sheds twice a year and it's fur changes color with 
            the season. Fawns have spots that fade in 3 or 4 months old. They 
            can stand a few hours after being born and hide in the brush until 
            they are 1 month old.    | 
        
          | Bucks travel by themselves does 
            travel in small groups with fawns. The form herds in the winter 
            & separate in the summer. Deer are active just before sunset and 
            shortly after sun raise.    | 
        
          | The antlers on a buck come off 
            from January to March and grow new ones in April or May. The antlers 
            are covered with a velvet fur that falls off in August or September. 
            Most bucks have 7 points. Bucks with full racks of antlers use them 
            to fight. The largest buck ever recorded weighed 355 pounds. |
