The American Crocodile is a shy and a very rare reptile.  American Crocodiles live in warm quiet waters.  Most are found in salt waters.

 

The American Crocodile weight 150-250 pound or 1 ton.  The American Crocodile is 15-17 feet long, some in South America have reached 23 feet.  The American Crocodile is grayish-green or a dark olive and grayish brown.  American Crocodiles have yellow and white bellies.  American Crocodiles can live up to 50-60 years. 

 

The American Crocodile eats fish, turtles, snakes, birds and crabs.  They  are carnivores.

 

The life cycle of an American Crocodile is egg-young crocodile-adult crocodile.

 

The American Crocodile is a nocturnal reptile.  They have five toes that are webbed together.  There are about 450 left in America.  The American Crocodile has 66 teeth.  When the baby is born the mother crocodile puts baby in her mouth and carries her to safe waters.
