Bullfrogs

Description

The bullfrog is 24cm long. It weighs 0.5kg. The bullfrog has a yellow stomach and a green body. It lives 7 to 9 years. Some have spots or blotches of a darker color on the back.

Habitat

The bullfrog's habitat is chopped oak, maple leaves , sphagum moss and river sand.  It lives in the central and eastern United States, Ontario and Quebec.

Diet

Bullfrogs eat big bugs, fish ,guppies and mice.
 

Life Cycle

The bullfrog's life cycle is egg, tadpole and then frog.
 

Interesting Facts 

 The tadpole turns into a frog in 1 to 3 years.  Male frogs say Jug of rum jug of rum.  Bullfrog lay 25,000 at a time.  The bullfrog is the largest frog in North America.  Their voice can be heard a quarter  mile away.  Bullfrogs are the only animal that doesn't sleep.  It can leap 9 times it's body length. It can jump as high is to 3 to 6 feet.  Bullfrogs are preidors.  There legs are about 10 inches long.
